The price for the excursion will be $250.00 per car. This price will include:
All fees to the railroad
Saturday & Sunday parking fee for the lot in Jim Thorpe
A Saturday pizza lunch buffet, including salad and beverages, in Ashland. (there are no restaurants along this route for food stops)
One or more porta-johns where needed

Basic itinerary (more later, to successful applicants)
 
Set-on Sat April 1 in Jim Thorpe (restrooms in the station)
Safety meeting
Travel across the Hometown Trestle and through the Tamaqua tunnel to Tamaqua (about 25 miles)
Stop at Tamaqua station for a toilet break and turn the cars. The station restaurant will open for us. They will have coffee and pastries that you can purchase.
Travel north to East Mahanoy Junction and take the left fork and go through the Mahanoy Tunnel and go toward MT Carmel Jct
After passing through Mahanoy Plane we will take a short side trip up the Shenandoah Branch. We will be able to go about 1.8 miles and we will back out.
We will then proceed to Groody’s Catering in Ashland, where we will have a pizza buffet, which is included in the trip fee. (Gratuities appreciated by the restaurant) There will be seats for everyone and restrooms. A short walk to the restaurant will be required.
We will then travel to Mt Carmel Junction
We will turn in the gauge at Mt Carmel Jct (If you can’t turn in the gauge, you will need to back up about 1 ˝ miles to Locust Gap
Stop at Groody’s in Ashland for a toilet break
Return to East Mahanoy Junction, turn the cars and return to Jim Thorpe. We will turn the cars at Jim Thorpe to prepare for Sunday’s trip
Speeders will be left on the track overnight. Trailers can be left in the parking area overnight. You are on your own until Sunday morning.
Total round trip miles approximately 109 miles
You will need to carry enough gas. There is nowhere along the tracks to buy gas.
Most of the miles we are running is rare or new mileage. Many turns and some backing is required. If you don’t want to do this, don’t apply. It’s the only way we can cover this remote area.
 
Sunday April 2, 2017
 
Safety meeting
We will again cross the Hometown trestle and then take the right fork of the wye and go up the Hazleton Branch. We will travel to a point north of McAdoo where we will turn the cars on a crossing.
We will travel back south to Delano Jct, and go out the Delano Branch. At Morea Jct we will take the Morea Branch and travel to a crossing near the end of the track. We will turn and return to Delano Junction, turn and return to Jim Thorpe.
Near the end of the Morea Branch, we will stop at a mini-mart either right before or right after we turn. We will have a porta-john there and they have a one-hole restroom. Some food is available there. Gas is available.
 
Total miles will be 65-70 for the Sunday trip.

Everett Railroad-- Saturday April 29, 2017
Join us in our 17th year of excursions on this railroad. In the previous fifteen trips, the runs totaled 55- 60 miles. We expect the same in 2017. The set-on is at Hollidaysburg, PA . We will travel south to Claysburg and turn the cars. Restrooms will be available. Then we will return to Hollidaysburg, turn the cars, and travel south to Roaring Spring’s RR station, where we will take our lunch and restroom stop. Lunch and ice cream will be available at the station. Details will be sent to those who register. The station’s restroom and a portable toilet will be available. After lunch we will continue south to Martinsburg, turn our cars on the wye, and retrace our route back to Hollidaysburg with an ice cream stop at Roaring Spring Station on the way. This will be a Northern Central Railcar Assoc. excursion. NARCOA rules will be enforced. There is a 40 car limit. Cost is $45 per car. Gary Shrey coordinator

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad--Sunday April 30, 2017
Join us Sunday April 29, 2017 as we again ride this scenic mountain railroad. From our set-on at the engine house in Ridgeley, WV, we will travel past the former Western Maryland RR station, through the narrows, and up the mountain to Frostburg. We expect to turn the speeders on the turntable, take a lunch/toilet break, and then return. Approximate round trip mileage will be 34 miles. We hope to be off the rails by 3PM, giving everyone an early trip home. This will be a NARCOA excursion. All NARCOA rules will be enforced. All cars will be inspected. There is a 40 car limit.  Ride the 50 miles of the Lycoming Valley Railroad from Williamsport, PA to Jersey Shore, PA and return, and then to Montgomery, PA and return.

MILESBURG, PA TO EITHER MILL HALL or TYRONE, PA – DEPENDS ON TRAIN TRAFFIC, MILESBURG, PA TO LEMONT, PA, APPROXIMATELY 70 MILES.
1st NOTE – WE HAVE PERMISSION TO RIDE THE MAIN IF IT IS AVAILABLE. THE COORDINATOR HAS NO CONTROL OVER TRAIN MOVEMENTS. NS DISPATCHES THIS LINE.
2nd NOTE - NO REFUND IF MAIN IS NOT AVAILABLE. WE WILL RIDE THE SECONDARY TRACK.
